Cakeap Support

Cakeap helps cake businesses manage orders, customers, planning, recipes, inventory, shopping lists and teams. Here are answers to common problems.

Can't sign in or access my account

  • Check the email address for typos and make sure Caps Lock is off.
  • Use "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen to get a reset link. Check your spam folder.
  • New accounts may need to confirm their email first using the link we sent.

Orders not appearing or not saving

  • Check your connection, then pull down to refresh or reload the page.
  • In More → Workspace, choose "All Businesses" — a selected business hides orders from others.
  • Make sure required fields (customer, date, items) are filled in before saving.
  • For team orders, ask the business owner to confirm you have access to that business.

Cake photos or image uploads

  • Use a JPG or PNG photo and a stable connection; large photos can take a moment.
  • On iPhone, allow Cakeap access to Photos and Camera in Settings.
  • If a photo didn't save, open the order, add it again and save.

Scanning orders or receipts with AI

  • Photograph the page flat, in good light, with all text visible.
  • If a scan fails, tap Retry or enter the order manually.
  • Always check scanned details before saving — AI can make mistakes.

Team invitations, permissions and business access

  • Invitations go to the email address entered — the invitee must sign up with that same email.
  • Owners control roles and which businesses each member can access, in Team settings.
  • If you can see but not edit something, your role may not allow it — ask the owner.

Billing

Cakeap does not currently offer paid subscriptions, so there is nothing to bill.

App loading or connection problems

  • Reload the page, or fully close and reopen the app.
  • Update your browser or the iOS app to the latest version.
  • Try another network (Wi-Fi vs mobile data).
